This is the most extensive astrological book on solar eclipses ever written. It describes 74 SAROS cycles, detailing all the eclipses within them. Each SAROS cycle is characterized as a unique Dragon, providing insight into their distinct natures.

The reason for the description of this number of families is the fact that the goal of this book is to define each solar eclipse that plays out during the period between 1440 and 2400, i.e. during a 1000 years period. In order to achieve this, families that originated much earlier had to be taken into account, but they do end during this 1000 years long period. Those eclipses that end up much later than the year 2400 also had to be taken into account, but they do begin within this 1000 years long period.
